A story
Hi, I’m Mia Alana Thompson. My story began in Kingston, Jamaica, where I grew up surrounded by hard-working, independent individuals.
From a young age, I watched the news, listened to radio broadcasts, and had a love for the digital world. I am always involved in something digital, whether it’s taking pictures with a camera, editing them, or editing video, recording myself doing vlogs, or just talking to the screen pretending that I was interacting with digital people. That was me all in it.
Years later, I decided to study for a BA in Communication, Art, and Technology at the University of Technology, Jamaica. Now that I am in my second year, I am making connections and learning a whole lot of exciting things. Whilst combining my passion for fashion, dressing up whenever, and all depending on my mood, now most of my colleagues call me “fashonista”. I not only dress up, but I also have a passion for the truth.
TO BE HEARD AND UNDERSTOOD.
In short, my journey is a compelling blend of cultural roots, media fascination, and personal ambition. Moving from a childhood steeped in the digital world to formal study in Communication Art and Technology, I am positioning myself to use my distinct voice and fashion-forward presence to achieve my primary goal to speak the truth and ensure that i am truly heard and understood in the digital age.
